Our Mission, Vision & Core Values

Project Butterfly promotes community, empathy, and support through shared journeys.

Compassion in Action. Hope in Transformation.

Our Mission

We believe in the power of outreach to transform lives. Project Butterfly is committed to ensuring that no one feels invisible, forgotten, or unworthy. Through compassionate outreach, we provide essential resources, including food, hygiene products, clothing, and other basic necessities, while treating every individual with humanity, humility, and respect.

We strive to restore dignity, nurture a sense of belonging, and inspire hope for a better tomorrow by meeting people where they are and supporting them through life’s challenges.

Our Vision

We envision communities where no one living outdoors feels forgotten, where basic needs are met, and where hope is restored through compassion, connection, and collective action.

Our ultimate vision is a world where everyone has access to safe, stable housing and the support needed to live a fulfilling life. We recognize that homelessness and housing insecurity can involve complex challenges, including mental health concerns and other barriers that require thoughtful, individualized solutions.

We believe that housing, compassionate support, and meaningful community connections should go hand in hand. By working together with community partners, healthcare professionals, volunteers, and advocates, we strive to create inclusive communities where every person has the opportunity to live with dignity, experience belonging, and reach their fullest potential.

Our Core Values

1. Compassion — We Serve With a Heart.

We lead with love, empathy, and understanding. We recognize that every person has a story, and we approach every interaction with an open heart, free from judgment. Compassion is not simply what we feel; it is what we put into action.

2. Dignity — Every Person Deserves Respect.

We believe every individual deserves to be treated with humanity, regardless of their circumstances. We honor each person’s worth, respect their experiences, and strive to ensure that everyone we serve feels seen, heard, and valued.

3. Consistency — We Show Up and Keep Showing Up.

Our commitment does not end after one event or one act of kindness. We strive to be dependable, follow through on our promises, and continue serving even when the work is challenging. Meaningful change requires commitment, perseverance, and a willingness to keep showing up.

4. Community — Together, We Are Stronger.

We believe meaningful change happens when people come together. Through partnerships, collaboration, and shared responsibility, we can accomplish more than we ever could alone. We recognize that the strength of a community is reflected in how it supports its most vulnerable members.

5. Accountability — We Measure What Matters.

We believe good intentions must be supported by meaningful action and measurable impact. We strive to use resources responsibly, evaluate our programs, listen to the communities we serve, and learn from our successes and shortcomings. We continually ask ourselves: What difference are we making, and how can we do better?

Why a Butterfly?

Why the Butterfly?

The butterfly represents transformation, rebirth, hope, courage, and the extraordinary beauty that can emerge through change.

At Project Butterfly, we recognize that transformation looks different for everyone. Sometimes it begins with a meal, a warm coat, a hygiene kit, or a caring conversation. Other times, it requires sustained support, access to resources, and a community willing to stand beside someone through difficult circumstances.

Like the butterfly, we believe that change is possible and that every person has value, potential, and the capacity to experience a new beginning.

The butterfly reminds us that our circumstances do not define our worth, our struggles do not erase our potential, and no one should have to navigate life’s challenges alone.

Our Promise

At Project Butterfly, we promise to lead with compassion, serve with dignity, show up with consistency, strengthen our community through collaboration, and remain accountable for the impact we create.

We are here not simply to distribute resources, but to build relationships, restore hope, and help create communities where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Because no one should feel invisible. No one should be forgotten. And everyone deserves the opportunity to spread their wings.

Project Butterfly — Reviving communities through compassion, connection, and care.
